Muckamore Abbey probe: man arrested in Antrim area

Police officers have made a further arrest today (Monday) as part of investigations into the alleged ill-treatment of patients at Muckamore Abbey hospital.

Detailing the operation, a Police Service of Northern Ireland spokesperson said: “Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Public Protection Branch investigating the allegations of ill-treatment of patients at Muckamore Abbey hospital have arrested a 51-year-old male this morning (June 5) in the Antrim area.

“This takes the total amount of arrests so far to 36.”
