Murder bid trio further remanded

Two men and a woman accused of the attempted murder of a man found injured and naked in a wheelie bin in a park in Ballymena have been further remanded in custody.

Teri Christopher Lau (26), of Dunclug Park; David Roddy Patterson (26), of Glendun Drive; and Paula Wilson (20), of Millfield are also accused of falsely imprisoning Adam Robinson on September 3.

A packed public gallery at Ballymena Magistrates Court, including Mr Robinson’s parents, heard a Public Prosecution Service lawyer update the court on the progress of the case.

She said that the expected date for forensic reports to be completed will be January or February of next year.

She also added that further DNA tests on fingerprints are expected by the end of October.

Barrister Andrew Moriarty, who represents Lau and Wilson, asked the PPS to consider using an alternative “forensic body” in the event of those results not being available at that stage.

Lau and Patterson, who appeared jointly on videolink from HMP Maghaberry, were further remanded in custody until October 31.

Wilson, who appeared in a separate videolink hearing from Hydebank prison, was further remanded until the same date.
