Newtownabbey PSNI issue advice after increase in scrambler related calls

Police have stated they will seize scramblers if they are being used illegally following an increase in reports about their use across Antrim and Newtownabbey.

Officers took to social media on April 21 to appeal to local residents.

Commenting on the issue, a PSNI spokesperson said: “Please be aware that you cannot ride these on a road or public place unless you have an appropriate licence, insurance, tax and licence plates.

“We will seize these scramblers should we come across them. Parents, advise your young people accordingly. Green areas in estates are not appropriate or legal for scramblers to be driven on. Neither are parks.”
