Newtownabbey resident ‘shaken’ after masked burglars ransack house

A female has been left badly shaken after masked men ransacked her Newtownabbey home during a break-in.

The burglary took place in Abernethy Gardens on Wednesday (October 28) evening.

Appealing for information, the PSNI said: “At approximately 8.00pm it is believed that three masked men forced their way into a house. It was reported the men ransacked rooms in the property before fleeing with a sum of money and jewellery.

“A female occupant who was inside the house at the time was not injured, but left badly shaken.

“Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident, and police would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 1678 of 28/10/20.
