No insurance driver receives six points

SIX penalty points were imposed on a Lurgan man last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for driving without insurance on June 26.

Forty four year old John McAfee, of Queen Street, Lurgan, was also fined £200 for the offence and ordered to pay an offender’s levy of £15.

The court heard that he was stopped on the Plantation Road, Lurgan, and a check revealed he did not have insurance.

Mr Conor Downey, representing the defendant, said McAfee’s wife had now obtained insurance for the vehicle.
