Pair due in court after Newtownabbey drugs seizure

A man (25) and woman (22) are due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court today on charges relating to the search of a property in Newtownabbey yesterday.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Detectives in Antrim have charged a 22-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man with a number of offences.

“They include possession of a Class A controlled drug, possession of a Class A controlled drug with intent to supply, possession of a Class B controlled drug, possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply, possession of a Class C controlled drug, possessing criminal property, acquiring criminal property and using criminal property.

“Both are expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday, January 28.

“As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

“This follows the search of a property in Newtownabbey on January 27.”
