Petrol bomb thrown at emergency services at Lurgan hospital

A petrol bomb was thrown at emergency services as they responded to an incident in Lurgan Hospital last night.

A traffic barrier was set alight and the bomb thrown at the emergency services when they responded.

Police in Lurgan said they are ‘very concerned’ about the behaviour of a number of young people in the grounds of the hospital.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “It is quite clear that those involved had no regard for the potential danger or annoyance that their actions may have caused to the elderly patients, their visiting families and the hospital staff who work tirelessly to provide a service to the whole community.

“Unfortunately this is not an isolated incident within the hospital grounds, involving young people.

“Police would ask parents to ensure they know exactly where their children are and what they are up to.”
