Police are investigating the theft of around 50 racing pigeons worth thousands of pounds from premises in Cullybackey sometime between Friday, June 12, and Saturday, June 13.

Harry McCloy, 44, of Granagh Road, called in the police after stock worth at least £8,000 was taken and has said he would consider putting up a reward for information leading to the return of the birds.

Being homing pigeons the birds will return to his rural location if they are let out so he believes the thieves will try to keep them captive and be used for breeding.
