Police at scene of Belfast security alert

Police are diverting traffic in Finaghy.

Commenting on the incident, a PSNI spokesperson said: “Police, along with ATO, are this evening at the scene of a security alert following the report of a suspicious object in the Upper Lisburn Road area, near Finaghy.

“Part of the Upper Lisburn Road is closed, with a number of cordons in place. Motorists are asked to avoid the area if at all possible.”

There is no further information at this time.
