Police charge male over 'unprovoked racist' assault on bus

Police in Mid Ulster say they have charged a male in connection with what they describe as an "unprovoked racist, hate attack."

They say the assault arose out of an alleged incident on public transport in Dungannon several weeks ago.

"When we arrived the victim had left, but we were able to identify the suspect," police said in a social media post.

"The victim was also later identified, and a short time after that, we managed to speak with them as they resided in another town.

"The suspect was arrested and charged to court for this unprovoked racist, hate attack on another male."
