Police found cannabis in vehicle at checkpoint outside Larne

A Larne man caught with cannabis in a vehicle which was stopped at a police checkpoint at Drumnagreagh Road, Cairncastle, on December 19 last year has been fined £150 at Ballymena Magistrates’ Court.

The defendant was Aaron McClean (20), of Lindara Drive.

A prosecutor told the court on Thursday of last week (April 21) there was a “strong smell of cannabis coming from the vehicle”.

The court heard a grinder and seven grammes of herbal cannabis were found in the vehicle.
