He added: “At around 9.30pm an unknown male on foot approached two school aged girls cycling on the Moygannon Road area of Donaghcloney.

“This man asked one of the girls to try on his sunglasses. This male was described as 50 years. Tanned skin. Blonde hair; blue eyes. He was wearing beige coloured shorts.

“He had a mustard coloured top. He wore red coloured “New Balance” trainers. He had rainbow polarised sunglasses. He had an Australian type accent

This man was probably just being friendly but the children went home frightened.

“Shortly afterwards a police car was flagged down in the Dromore area. A local resident reported that his daughter had been followed by a 50-year-old male in a white people carrier vehicle with a ‘sliding side door’ in the Magherabeg Road area, then onto the Moorefield Road.

“We would like to identify the man from the incident in Donaghcloney. His description is quite distinctive. Just to eliminate him from our enquiries.”
