Police issue appeal to reunite ‘distinctive’ bike with owner

Police in Newtownabbey have issued an appeal in a bid to reunite a bicycle with its owner.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “On Sunday (November 29), police were on patrol in Newtownabbey when a distinctive bike was abandoned right in front of them.

“The cyclist didn’t appear terribly keen to chat to police and appeared to vanish into thin air.

“Police at Newtownabbey have the bike in their possession for safe keeping in the hope an owner can be identified.

“If you think that the bike is yours or recognise it and may be able to help, let me know.

“It’s a timely reminder as Christmas approaches that thieves are out there and will take any opportunity to help themselves.”
