Police issue warning ahead of ‘organised fight’ in Newtownabbey

Police officers have urged parents to be vigilant after receiving information about an arranged fight that was due to take place in Newtownabbey over the weekend.

Issuing the appeal to parents and guardians on Saturday, July 25, a PSNI spokesperson said: “Police in Newtownabbey are in receipt of information suggesting that an organised fight between large groups of youths is to take place in V36 playing fields tonight (Saturday).

“We are asking parents to keep track of the whereabouts of their children this evening and throughout the weekend. Police have received multiple calls for service relating to Anti-social behviour in that area.

“We do not want to see any young person injured or end up with a criminal record.”
