Police probe Newtownabbey criminal damage

Police are appealing for information following an incident in the Prince Charle Way area of Newtownabbey.

The Times understands damage was caused to a bus shelter in the area sometime between 8.45pm and 8.55pm on June 1, but information was only made public by officers yesterday.

Appealing for information, a PSNI spokesperson said: “Police received a report that a bus shelter window had been smashed on Prince Charles Way, Newtownabbey.

“This type of incident affects the community as a whole and places an unnecessary burden on our public transport and creates an unsafe environment for those availing of these services.

“Were you in the area at the time and witnessed this incident? Do you have dash cam footage which could assist police with their enquiries? If so, contact police on 101, quoting serial number 2272 01/06/20.”
