Issuing a reminder of the new restrictions police said: “From 8pm to 6am there can be no indoors or outdoors gatherings of any kind and only essential travel is allowed.

“So when Portadown NPT see a vehicle on the Kernan Loop just around midnight police checks were carried out.

“Not only should the driver and occupants not be on the road at this time of night but as it happens neither should the car.

“That’s a vehicle seized and a driver to appear in Court for driving a vehicle with no insurance.

“The rest of the occupants were all checked and one had a date in Lurgan custody wanted for an earlier burglary.

“People who make a choice to travel needlessly against Government advice really need to consider their actions.”
