Police seize estimated £35k worth of drugs in Newtownabbey

Officers from Newtownabbey Neighbourhood Policing Team have seized an estimated £35,000 worth of herbal cannabis during a house search in the region this morning (Friday).

Detailing the operation, a PSNI spokesperson said: “Initial indications are that over £35,000 worth of herbal cannabis has been removed from our streets.

“We have also seized a large quantity of associated paraphernalia which is used in the production of illegal cannabis oil for electronic cigarettes.

“This is a worrying trend and we have had several incidents in the district recently where children have been hospitalised by using these substances.

“Please have the conversation with your children now regarding the dangers of this substance and its use in electronic cigarettes.
