Police seize syringes and warn of dangers of drugs

Police have made 236 drug seizures and uncovered five cannabis farms across Craigavon since April last year, it has been revealed.

It follows the seizure of syringes in Portadown today (Monday).

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Earlier today we received a report from a concerned member of the community who discovered two syringes in a car park on Brownstown Road.

“We went down there and recovered the syringes and disposed of them. In this instance there were no needles however we are still concerned that items like this are being found in an area which is frequented by lots of you.

“From April 2014 until the end of February this year we have arrested 150 people across Craigavon for drugs offences,” the spokesperson said. “We have made 236 drugs seizures and uncovered five cannabis farms. Tackling drugs is a priority for us and we have reflected this in our policing plan. We would ask for your continued support in reporting any suspicious activity or concerns to us at the earliest opportunity. The number to phone is 101.”
