Police spotted motorist driving erratically at roundabout at motorway

When taken to Antrim Police Station, Aleksandra Antowicz (29), of Queens Road in Antrim town, failed to provide an evidential breath sample.
Antrim Magistrates Court, sitting in Ballymena, heard the defendant came to police attention on October 26 this year.

Hide AdHer vehicle was "all over the road" at the roundabout. It stopped and did a U-turn on the approach to a slip road to the motorway and drove back onto the roundabout "seemingly intending to drive the wrong way round the roundabout," a prosecutor said.
Police stopped the defendant who had a preliminary breath sample of 113 - the legal limit is 35.
A defence lawyer said the defendant had been out with friends had taken her car. When she couldn't get a taxi home she made a "very foolish decision" to drive.

Hide AdHe said the defendant tried to give a breath test at the police station "but through nerves she failed to do so".
The defendant, who had the assistance of a Polish language interpreter in court, was banned from driving for 14 months and fined £300.
