Police step up checks on vehicles
Larne motorists have been warned that police are stepping up vehicle checks, especially looking at tyre tread depth and break lights.
The legal tread depth limit on car tyres is 1.6mm and 1mm for motorbikes.
Tyre pressure is also critical and should be at the manufacturer’s specification.
Free tyre safety checks are available from almost all tyre suppliers across NI.
