Craigavon Area Commander, Chief Inspector Anthony McNally said: “It was disappointing and disheartening to see a small group of people attack police officers who were there to protect the public and make the area safer. The mindless thuggery of these few will not prevent us from delivering a protective service to the local community.

“On this occasion we were able to remove a quantity of ammunition from the community. We will continue to tackle criminality wherever it occurs and would ask for the continued support of local residents.”

The investigation into this incident is ongoing and police would ask anyone with information to contact them in Craigavon on 0845 600 8000.
