Policing plans launched

POLICE in Cookstown have launched their local policing plans for the new financial year.

It sets out the issues that have been identified as important to local people and how police will respond to them in providing personal, professional and protective policing to all in the community.

Chief Inspector Jane Humphries, the area commander, said: “We want to provide an excellent service to all through professional policing. We want to get things right first time and gain your trust and confidence. We will seek to do this through improved partnership and engagement with local communities.

“And we want to see that vulnerable people area protected. Our aim is to do that by reducing the harm caused by violent crime and drugs and to improve our service to vulnerable groups.”
