Portrush robbery: four to appear in court

DETECTIVES from PSNIs Organised Crime Branch have charged four men with robbery, going equipped for theft, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an inditable offence and handling stolen goods.

The men are aged 36, 30, 27, and 22 police said yesterday.

The charges are in connection with the armed robbery of a cash in transit van in the Main Street area of Portrush on Friday.

The 36 year old and the 30 year old have also been charged with driving a motor vehicle without insurance and the 22 year old has also been charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

All four men are expected to appear before North Antrim Magistrates Court on Monday.

As is normal procedure these charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
