PSNI appeal after suspicious fire at Galliagh house

Detectives are appealing for information following the report of a suspicious fire in the Galliagh area of Londonderry in the early hours of this morning, Friday, October 17.

Commenting on the incident, Detective Sergeant Alan Adair said: “Police received a report at approximately 2.40am this morning of a fire having been started in the back garden of a house in the Temple Park area. As a result of this fire a wooden cabin to the rear of the house was completely destroyed. Windows in both the house and the neighbouring house were damaged by the heat.”

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service was also in attendance.

“Detectives would ask anyone who was in the area between 2.15am and 2.45am to inform police of anything they saw, or indeed anyone who has any information is also asked to contact them at Strand Road on the non emergency number 101,” he said.
