Detective Constable Finlay said: “At about 7am on Sunday, September 7, a woman at Knightsbridge woke to find a youth in her home. He made off and was seen to join up with two others outside the house. While police were at the scene of the call, a neighbour reported that a bunch of keys had been stolen from his car. A short time later, a man reported that his grey Volkswagen Golf had been stolen from Sevenoaks, which is a short distance away. We have reports of it being driven in an erratic manner in the Victoria Road area, before it was spotted by a local resident in a park at Caw shortly before noon. An attempt had been made to burn the car.

“We would like to hear from anyone who saw the three youths, or noticed the car anywhere about the city.”
