PSNI stop drink driver travelling wrong way on dual carriageway

Police officers in the Antrim and Newtownabbey district arrested two people for driving with excess alcohol overnight.

Detailing the incidents in a Facebook post this morning (Wednesday), a police spokesperson said: “In the past few hours we have arrested two people for driving with excess alcohol- one in Antrim and one in Newtownabbey.

“One was particularly alarming as they were driving the wrong way around a roundabout and then proceeded to drive the wrong way down a dual carriageway.

“Thankfully we stopped both drivers before they could cause harm to anyone else.

“If this doesn’t make you think before drinking and driving, nothing will. Never ever drink and drive, it’s not worth it.”
