Public urged to help PSNI

The delegation which comprised of Upper Bann MP David Simpson, together with Assembly colleague Sydney Anderson and local councillor Junior McCrum, met with the PSNI at Banbridge station where they discussed a number of recent incidents.

Speaking afterwards in a joint statement the DUP team said: “This was a welcome opportunity to meet with the PSNUI locally to discuss a number of recent incidents across the Banbridge district.

“Recently a senior citizen had her home broken into while she was in bed. We have also had another resident in Gilford who had their home attacked in the early hours of the morning with the result that the windows were broken. Banbridge has also seen serious assault in recent times.

“We took the opportunity to raise with the PSNI concerns over crime that local residents have relayed to us via our Banbridge constituency and in personal contact.

“Investigations are ongoing, but we would take this opportunity to urge people to co-operate with the PSNI. If you have any information regarding people involved in this kind of activity, then go to the PSNI with that information. It is vital that such people are apprehended and made ot face the full rigours of the law.”
