A prosecutor said that police were called to Joe Mac’s bar in Portadown where a ‘ruckus’ was going on.

CCTV showed two males, one of whom was the defendant, punching the bar owner’s son in a drunken episode.

Mr Brendan Hagan, representing the defendant, said it was Watson’s brother who was in the initiator of this incident.

He explained that his client accepts he punched the injured party but CCTV showed he was trying to diffuse the situation and get his brother out of the bar.

District Judge, Mrs Bernie Kelly adjourned the case until November 23.
