Remanded in custody for breach

A woman accused of assaulting her brother in the Intensive Care Unit has been remanded in custody after breaching her bail conditions for the third time.

Bridget Patricia Mongan, of Stanley’s Walk, is charged with attempted grievous bodily harm, common assault and disorderly behaviour on January 4.

On Sunday, police on cycle patrol in the city centre saw the 23-year-old in an intoxicated state. A breath test gave a reading of 133mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath.

District Judge Barney McElholm remanded Mongan in custody and said she had already been given a final warning. She will appear in court again next month.
