Reminder to public to remove valuables from vehicles

Police in Banbridge are reminding the public to remove valuables from their cars and secure their vehicles.

The reminder comes following thefts from vehicles in Scarva Park on Friday May 24.

During the afternoon the front passenger windows of a white Volvo C30 and red Ford Fiesta were broken and handbags taken from the cars.

Police are appealing to anyone who was in the park during Friday afternoon and noticed any activity around the cars.

They are particularly keen to speak to the male driver of a converted campervan which was parked in the area at the time and can be contacted on 0845 600 8000.

Police have reminded motorists to ensure to lock your car and ensure all windows and sun roofs are secured.

It only takes a matter of seconds to break into a car so we would also urge local residents to promptly report all suspicious activity they notice near vehicles or car alarms that have been activated, as this will help to deter and help us to detect those involved in this type of crime.
