Resident subjected to a 'traumatic ordeal' by masked intruders

Police are hunting for four masked men who forced entry to a house in Aughnacloy yesterday and made off with a sum of money.

The male occupant was ordered to lie on the ground while the intruders searched his home at Castletown Road.

Detectives understand that two of the men were armed with weapons.

Detective Inspector Robinson said: "This was a traumatic ordeal for the victim who was in his own home, a place where he rightly deserves to feel safe. Thankfully, he was not physically injured.

"Our enquiries continue this morning, and we are keen to hear from anyone who was in this area yesterday evening around 6pm and saw any suspicious activity, or has information about what happened to get in touch with our detectives in Mid Ulster on 101 quoting reference number 1560 of 11/01/21."
