Residents abused by stone-throwing teens in Newtownabbey

A number of Antrim Road residents were abused over the weekend as crowds of young people gathered in the area.

The incidents occurred on land close to St Gerard’s Church on Saturday, June 13.

Detailing the anti-social behaviour, a PSNI spokesperson said: “North Belfast has seen another night of crowds of over 100 youths gathering behind St Gerard’s Church on the Antrim Road.

“Some of these youths were dropped off by their parents. A small number of this crowd then abused local residents, as well as throwing stones at windows.”
