Robbery

Sometime between 5.45pm and 6.15pm, a 24-year-old female was walking in the area of May Street and Iona Terrace, when an unknown male approached her grabbed her, dragged her to the ground and snatched her handbag.

The victim sustained only minor injuries but was badly shaken by the incident.

The male is described as aged in his twenties, approximately 5feet 8 inches tall, medium build with dark short wavy hair, spiked at front. He was wearing a dark coloured puffer coat and dark denim jeans. It is believed he made off in the direction of a white transit van.

Police are asking anyone who may witnessed the incident or may have seen the male in the area to contact them at Strand Road station
