Scam warning from Bulldogs

SCAMMERS have been targeting Lurgan residents claiming to be raising sponsorship money for a well known kick-boxing club.

A number of people have fallen foul of boys riding bicycles who were knocking door to door asking for sponsorship for Bulldogs Kick-boxing Club.

A spokesman for the club, which is based in High Street, said they had even gone to the door of one of the club’s female coaches begging for cash.

The girl knew the club did not have sponsorship forms out at the moment and confronted the boys, who subsequently ran off.

“We have proper sponsorship sheets with our own numbers on them and signed by members of the club,” said the spokesperson.

Meanwhile burglars have targeted houses in the Drumellan, Pinebank, Carrigart and Moyraverty areas of Lurgan/Craigavon that show no sign of activity, according to the PSNI.

“Entry in some cases has been through unlocked doors or windows and various items have been stolen,” said a spokesperson.

“The PSNI need the community of Craigavon to watch out for one another and report suspicious activity to police immediately.”

There were also reports of two white Transit vans acting suspiciously in the Oakfields, Old Fort Lodge and Larkfield areas.
