Six month jail sentence imposed

A man who cause damage to his ex-partner’s house was jailed for six months when he appeared before Londonderry Magistrates Court.

Emmett Paul Coyle (32), of Hawthorn Drive, pleaded guilty to disorderly behaviour and criminal damage relating to three separate sets of offences between March 23 and April 7.

The court was told he had 60 previous convictions and was in breach of a suspended sentence.

Seamus Quigley, defending, said: “My client made the classic mistake of consuming alcohol when he was down. This made things so much worse.”
