A young motorist caught travelling at 95mph at Dunman, Cookstown, was fined £165 with four penalty points at Magherafelt Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

A young motorist caught travelling at 95mph at Dunman, Cookstown, was fined £165 with four penalty points at Magherafelt Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

The court heart that Andrew Nesbitt (24), student, of Moneymore Road, Magherafelt, was detected on May 1.

Defence solicitor Stephen Atherton said it happened on a Friday and the defendant was simply looking forward to getting home.

Mr Atherton said Nesbitt has been driving for seven years and had a clear record.
