Suspected Class A drugs recovered after vehicle searched

A large quantity of suspected Class A drugs were recovered after an uninsured vehicle was stopped by police in Carrickfergus.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Our officers in Carrickfergus NPT stopped an uninsured vehicle on Monday. The driver made off and we subsequently seized the vehicle which was later searched and a large quantity of suspected Class A controlled drugs were recovered.

"We are now working with our colleagues in Forensics and Fingerprint Branch to recover evidence which will help us to identify the offender.

"Stopping an uninsured vehicle has resulted in dangerous drugs being removed from the streets of our community.
