Suspended sentence for benefit fraud

A Lurgan woman has been convicted of benefit fraud at Craigavon Magistrates Court yesterday.

Bernadette Ross (62) of Gilpinstown, Lurgan claimed Jobseekers Allowance and Pension Credit totalling £11,014 while failing to declare employment. She was given a two month prison sentence suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay court costs of £10.

She will also have to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
