Cllr John Hanna, Chairman of Banbridge PCSP, commented: “Banbridge PCSP Policing Committee is delighted to work with the local police and a local agricultural business to raise awareness with local farmers in the Banbridge District about the current projects to help reduce and prevent farming and rural crime.

“These projects include the PSNI ‘E’ District FarmWatch scheme; rural CCTV cameras which can be deployed via referrals from the NFU; and the Crimestoppers campaign to report rural crime. The combination of these projects and on-going campaigns will support our local farming and rural communities in making themselves safer as well as contributing to improving the confidence of these communities in policing.”

Inspector Leslie Badger, PSNI Banbridge Area rural sector, continued: “The event at GA Allen & Co was the perfect opportunity for us to meet people from the local rural community and promote Farmwatch. Farmwatch brings together a number of schemes and crime prevention advice which will help the rural and agricultural communities to protect their property better. We hope that the initiative will improve our interaction with this community and ensure they are receiving timely and informative advice and support.”
