Teen arrested in Greysteel burglary probe

A teenager has been arrested by detectives investigating last week’s burglary in Greysteel.

The PSNI say that on Tuesday, February 17, at around lunch time, two young men forced entry to a house on Clooney Road by kicking in the front door, while another young male stood outside.

The pair made off when they encountered the female occupant.

A spokesperson for the the PSNI said: “Detectives investigating a burglary in Greysteel around lunch time of Tuesday 17 February have made an arrest. The 16 year old male was arrested this afternoon and is currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries. Detective Inspector McQuade is continuing to appeal for witnesses to the burglary to contact CID in Limavady.”

The spokesperson added: “Two of the males are described as being approximately 5’9” tall, of slim build and were wearing dark jackets. One was wearing a white woollen hat while the other was wearing a dark woollen hat. The third male standing outside the house was wearing a distinctive sky blue jacket. The three males were seen in the area sometime between 12.45pm and 1.05pm. Detectives can be contacted at Limavady CID on the non-emergency number 101.”
