Thousands of pounds in stolen property recovered in Cookstown

Cookstown police say they have recovered thousands of pounds of suspected stolen property in the town.

It folows the arrest of a male and female in the town yesterday following a theft at a local store.

Police said in a social media post: "Follow up searches tonight at property in Cookstown have uncovered thousands of pounds worth of suspected stolen property including power tools, batteries, clothes, stationery and electronic equipment. We believe all these items have been stolen from businesses and individuals within Cookstown town centre.

Cookstown Neighbourhood Team have begun the process of returning the stolen items to businesses and individuals.
