Three arrested after police recover copper piping and other items from car

Three men have been arrested after police recovered a quantity of copper piping when they stopped a car in Dungannon this morning.

The car with three men inside was stopped on the Donaghmore Road shortly after 4.35am

Sergeant Braiden: "Officers searched the vehicle and recovered the copper piping and other items from the vehicle. A subsequent search of a property in the Dungannon area in relation to the incident resulted in a quantity of suspected cannabis, drug paraphernalia and other items were recovered.

"A 34 year old man and two men aged 22 years old were arrested in relation to the incident and all three have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

“We are appealing to anyone who has reported copper piping missing from their properties to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 159 21/08/20.

“Enquiries are continuing and police would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area is asked to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 676 21/08/20. An online report can be submitted using the non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/ or by contacting Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
