Three cars torched in Larne arson attack

Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding an incident in which three vehicles were set on fire in Larne early this morning (Thursday).

The cars were parked in the driveway of a property on Glenarm Road in the east Antrim town when they were targeted around 1.45am.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police enquiries into the arson attack are ongoing and police are appealing for witnesses. Please call 101, quoting reference 100 29/04/21.”

Two appliances from Larne Fire Station attended the blaze and had it under control in just over an hour.

A Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Firefighters were called to three vehicles that were well alight on the Glenarm Road in Larne. Firefighters used three hose reel jets to extinguish the fire and the incident was dealt with by 2.56am.

“The cause of the fire is believed to have been deliberate ignition.”
