Town protester raises eyebrows

EYEBROWS were raised on High Street this week as the ‘MAIL’ was targeted by a lone protester.

The man, Eugene Bradley, was accusing us of a cover-up of events at the High Court last Thursday.

His protest started last Friday and grew ever more elaborate as on Tuesday and Wednesday he was handing out bananas and on Thursday he arrived at the front of our office with a table, newspapers and eight small flower pots which he neatly arranged on the central reservation at the CCTV camera pole.

While refusing to speak to us on Thursday morning we did manage to gather the man had been at the High Court last week to hear the case against former secretary of state for Northern Ireland Peter Hain in which he was charged with contempt of court for criticising a judge. The case was dropped.

It would seem Mr Bradley - who has been quite vocal in his protest - had at some stage been locked out of the court (according to his claims).

He has also been sighted at North Street protesting there.

Mr Bradley came to public attention several years ago when he staged a protest at the top of Edward Street targeting the legal profession.

The ‘MAIL’ would point out the Peter Hain case has absolutely no connection to Lurgan or Craigavon and was therefore not covered by this paper.
