Translink offers reward after bus driver attacked near Lurgan

Translink have offered a cash reward of up to £1,000 for information about a road rage incident in which a man allegedly attempted to pull a driver through his bus window near Lurgan.

The alleged incident happened on the Goldline 273 Omagh to Belfast service on Saturday April 18.

It was claimed the driver of a black BMW car forced the bus driver on to the hard shoulder and tried to pull him through his window.

Translink said their driver was the victim of an “incident of road rage” at Junction 10 on the M1 eastbound and a number of passengers on board. CCTV footage of the incident has been shared with the PSNI who are currently investigating.

A spokeswoman said: “We take incidents of assault against our employees extremely seriously and would remind passengers if they are willing to go to court to give evidence that helps to secure a conviction, we will offer cash reward of up to £1,000.”

David McMurray from Unite said the driver was now having flashbacks when he was travelling along that stretch of road.
