Two arrested after £150,000 drug seizure

Two men aged 68 years old and 50 years old have been arrested and police in Foyle have recovered a quantity of suspected Class B drugs with an estimated street value of £150,000.

The arrests follow a search of a property in the Waterside area of the city on the evening of Tuesday, February 25.

Both men are currently helping police with their enquiries.

Another man aged in his 20’s was also arrested in the Waterside area following further enquiries in relation to the seizure. The man is also helping police with their enquiries.

Commenting on the seizure Inspector Declan McGrath, Waterside Neighbourhood Inspector said: “We know that drugs are an issue of concern to people in Derry and this seizure further reinforces our determination to remove controlled drugs from the streets of the City. The PSNI have been working with the local community to tackle drug dealers head on and we will continue to work in conjunction with partner agencies to bring to justice those involved in illegal drugs at all levels.
