Van stolen

Police in Derry are investigating the theft of a van from the Galliagh area of the city.

Detective Inspector David McQuade said that in the early hours of Tuesday, September 30, criminals gained entry to a house at Fernabbey and stole the keys of the van.

He added: “The van was found in the Creggan area of the city after 7am. Detectives are keen to hear from for anyone who saw a white Ford Transit with writing on the side between midnight and 7am on the Waterside or Cityside in circumstances that seemed unusual.

Meanwhile, a till drawer was stolen from a chip van Glengalliagh Road. The incident happened between 4am and 9am on Tuesday. The till drawer was later located at Fern Park.
