Vehicles clamped during Newtownabbey road safety operation

Police officers from Newtownabbey district and North Belfast district, accompanied by members of the Driver and Vehicle Agency (DVA) and NSL, teamed up to conduct a road safety operation in the Antrim Road area yesterday (Monday).

Police issued four endorsable fixed penalty notices for defective tyres, two tickets for no MOT and two prosecution files for traffic offences.

The DVA operatives clamped 10 vehicles, issued five tickets, issued seven prohibition notices due to vehicles not being in roadworthy condition and issued two endorsable tickets.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “We will continue to conduct these operations throughout the district at the community’s request.”
