Larne and Carrickfergus Neighbourhood Team have been working closely with partners in Northern Ireland Water and local MLA Gordon Lyons as part of the initiative.
The PSNI has produced a video explaining the hidden dangers and what visitors can do to stay safe.
"The Neighbourhood Team regularly patrol this area and we would encourage parents and guardians to take an active interest in what their children are doing," said a police spokesperson.
