Waterside burglary

Detectives at Strand Road are appealing for information about a burglary in the Waterside, which was discovered on Saturday evening.

Detective Constable Richard Donnell said: “A downstairs window was broken to gain access and a substantial sum of money was stolen. Among this was £500 in £2 coins and we are particularly keen to hear about anyone who has been offered payment for items or services in significant numbers of £2 coins, or about anyone in possession of a large number of the coins.”

Meanwhile, Police in Strabane are also appealing for information about a burglary. On Sunday evening, police received a report that a house at Liscurry Gardens in Artigarvan had been broken into. A considerable amount of household goods were stolen.

Sergeant Glen Warnock said police were appealing for information and were particularly keen to learn more about a blue Transit-type van was seen in the area. Telephone 101 with any relevant information.
